Mountain Rescue

Mountain Rescue in Scotland is essentially carried out by
volunteer teams located throughout the Country. As well as
dealing with mountain incidents, they may be called upon to
help with coastal searches and more general missing person
alerts, especially in rough terrain. Teams often work together
and co-ordinate with RAF and Police teams, SAR Helicopters,
Coastguards and The Lifeboat Service.
